I was a big fan in the 80's, and my band played a couple of tunes from Fun n Games. Here's a live video with a couple Rickenbackers, one model (the Convertible) of which I don't think I've ever seen used anywhere.

I used to like The Connells quite a bit (especially their Ring album). Never got a chance to see them live. Good to know they were a Rick band (at least early on).

That clip is taken from a concert at Meredith College in 1985 where R.E.M. performed also. Pete plays a 360-12 JG on "S. Central Rain."

I saw them a bunch of times later (Boylan Heights and subsequent). They look so young in that video! They've got a lot of great songs.

Wow! They are my favorite band, yet I didn't know they played Rickenbackers in the past. I saw them live (again) last fall at a rare performance in Atlanta, and got to chat with them backstage after the show. George Huntley is no longer with the band, but his replacement guitarist was a pretty good match for them. Thanks for the link, I had not seen that video. Back in the 90's I saw them quite a few times, but wasn't very interested in what they played on stage, only that they were playing! I was lucky enough to be in a small live audience in Atlanta for a studio performance that ultimately had some of the tracks recorded that made it onto "New Boy". I can make out my "woo" on some of the tracks. WNNX 99x radio put on the taping session and susbsequently broadcast the whole studio performance. I think I still have a cassette tape of the broadcast somewhere. That reminds me - I need to try and import that somehow and convert it to digital before it degrades any more!

Thanks for sharing the links... I really like most of what they did. Never heard of them before '74-'75, but liked them ever since. Never managed to catch them live unfortunately ;(
