That's right, I'm curious in wondering who thinks that The Beatles had better alternate studio takes than what was released.

For example, I love Take 7 of "Strawberry Fields Forever"


Better than I like the released version. It's seems so laid back and easy going.

George's acoustic demo of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"


Has an entirely different feel to what came out. It's nice and George seems in control of the entire song.

I also love Take 1 of "Tomorrow Never Knows"


In my opinion, the group should have released it like this.

I like "Across the Universe" before Phil Spector got to it.

I like the version of "And Your Bird Can Sing" with George's Rick 12 better. If only they hadn't mucked it all up by giggling through the take.....

I agree that the early take of AYBCS with George's Ric -12 is better. The key of "D" also sounds sweeter than the key of "E" like on the final released version. Jim, there are other bootleg versions of it that don't have the laughter ruining the song like on the Anthology... and those versions are really pretty good.
