Yeah, very cool. I didn't know that this was out there. I don't remember seeing him use his thumb much to play bass. Usually he's used a pick. Is he playing this way more now?

I have seen this, awesome! Goes to show that Paul sounds like Paul, no matter the amp. It is HIM!

He may use a pick on the recording, or live or maybe his thumb on just this song. I read that he sometimes uses his thumb when he wants a fatter, smoother sound.

I love when he shouts out "minor." It's odd but it sticks with me.
like in the "let it be" film where they are learning "maxwell's silver hammer."

Yeah, I actually bought this from somewhere (it was a digital download) & I've forgotten the site now. It came along with other parts - acoustic & electric guitar & drums. Pretty neat.

In response to an earlier comment (below), yes it would. It would be even more interesting to see if he can actually remember what his parts were, or if he'd have to learn them from YouTube posts. This is not actually a criticism, but considering the complexity of some of his most classic work, it's likely that he's not bothered to re-learn it to mimic the performance in the original recordings - you know, something like "Hey Bulldog".

This guy is so freekin talented. Maybe he should find another talented singer/songwriter and form a band.

While his thumb does wrap around the fretboard a lot, he doesn't fret any notes with it. He is always playing a higher note with his finger than what we would hear if the thumbed fret were being plucked. Watch the "follow the bouncing ball" white dots in the graphic. It never shows a note on the low E string.

I actually though he was fretting the A, not the E string, now and again. See at 1:57.

However, I realise now that the fretboard layout goes from E to G left to right. Kind of the opposite from his left hand playing style. Ie , if you stand his bass on the rounded base it would go G to E.

Still cool though
