A week ago I received my modified 650D back from Walter Kraushaar:
http://www.kraushaar-gitarren.de/

Now it is a unique 650 with a white polyurethane (DD) finish, a black metal pickguard, a Bigsby B5, a Schaller roller bridge, Schaller locking tuners M6 topmount and a 12k toaster pickup in the bridge position. I call this guitar my 650E "Erkelenz" ... Walter did a great job refinishing this guitar (he also refinished my 325V59 and built a custom guitar for me).

That's very cool. I've never been a huge fan if the look of the 650 as compared to other Rick models, but yours looks really great. Congrats to both you and Walter.

Hey Markus ! Congratulations ! This is really something very special ! I really don't regret that I sold you the 12 K, a perfect new home for it . It is one out of a pair I purchased from RRF member Collin Whitley some time ago. The next time I come to Cologne I really like to see your new baby - well, and listen of course how it sounds. Enjoy ! :D
Best wishes from southern to western Germany ! Alex

Thank you all for your kind words. And special thanks to you, Alex, for selling me the 12k pickup, of course. I hope that we will find time to meet when you are in Cologne next time.

Yes, this is my workhorse guitar. It is the one I usually take to gigs, rehearsals and sessions. Nowadays it is sometimes replaced by my hand-built Kraushaar-guitar, but the 650AVH still is the most versatile guitar I own.

A 650AVH is hard to find, but it would be relatively easy to modify a 650D to become a 650AVH if you know a good luthier, who can do the job. This luthier would have to replace the 650D´s fixed bridge with a modern vibrato, "shave off" a little of the bulky neck of the 650D, add a new turquoise colour to the body wings of the 650D and finish everything with a clear coat.
