A LONG TIME AGO, IN A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY...

Darth is proud as can be of little Luke...

The tiny tyke is growing up to be the spitting image of the Old Man. He's not nearly as intimidating, true. The first thing you'll notice upon hearing his voice is that it has not deepened with maturity, and from time to time picks up a bit of kiddy vibrato. Don't worry, Luke, it'll soon settle down...

I've taken notes on the the adolescent Luke vs. the Old Man. Allow me to share them with you:

As Luke matures fully, he will lose two strings and their associated tuning keys. His remaining four strings will thicken and age into a nice black color, and their tuners grow in size as his voice assumes its manly timbre and range. However, just as he loses two strings, he'll gain two knobs, and his teenybopper vibrato will vanish, even as his tailpiece enlarges and grows stronger to better anchor those masculine strings.

His frets will disappear, and his fretboard will lengthen to give him more height. His small white dot fret markers will turn black and grow in diameter. His immature truss rod cover (crew-cut shape and single color) will morph into the aggressive "dagger" shape we all know. His jaunty buzz-cut headstock will grow its movie star pompadour with signature curlicue. This drives the little girls wild!

His horns will grow in length and girth (ahem...), and his lower horn will trade that immature, vestigial point, with something with a bit more style and substance.

The two most important changes I've saved for last: He develops an authoritative "horseshoe", andd his adult plumage--characterized by its unique "checkerboard" aspect--becomes fully evident.

Both of these guys hang around in my guitar room. They're a neat father and son pair, and enjoy playing together..

Here Papa beams with pride as sonny steps into the morning sun...

You can see that Luke still has a way to go, to catch up with Pop:

Why does the "tadpole-to-frog" thing we learned in school science class come to mind? :P
Kidding aside, great "425"!
