Been thinking about putting some on my 4003. Anyone else done this and have pics to share?

Would they even fit on a 4003's control layout? They're kinda big as I recall.

Ah, Dane, that sounds really cool. I was going to put these on my 2008 4003FL that is MG with a very nicely figured "fretboard". I was wondering if the brown and gold would work with it. It would have a white pickguard & TRC, hence the desire to see some pics.

I believe this was on the Pick of the Ricks web site a few years back.

I've put oven knobs on a 4003 before and it's sort of a tight fit. I sprayed mine black with silver in the middle.

I like the oven knobs for a cool retro vibe.

I put the oven knobs on this bass:

But I quickly removed and sold them.

They were so large that they hit each other when you'd rotate them. If I'm adjusting one of my tone pots, and that causes an adjacent volume knob to spin, I consider that unacceptable. YMMV!

If I had been more determined, I could have ground down the knobs so they wouldn't hit each other or had a custom pick guard made with the pot holes spread apart. But the truth was...standing back and looking at it made me cringe. It just looked wrong.

Looks to me like the MB 4003 in Tom's post above has the same problems too.

Logistical issues aside, they DO look cool IMO. Thanks for the pics and the info. Now I can make an informed choice.

Heck, that happened to me on guitars! So I totally understand.

I have brown oven knobs on my 4003 Monte Brown with gold pickguard and TRC.

I think they look great. My tech did have to shave one of the knobs down a bit so they didn't hit.

I'll try to post a pic if I can figure out how.

Also have them on my 3001 Autumn-Glo refin (3 knobs). They look good on that as well!

I guess now I owe you two pix.
