Hey,

first of all, sorry for my bad english, i'm german.
I want you to show my Rickenbacker 370/12 MG VP, which get signed by McGuinn himself in summer 2009 at the "Burg Herzberg Festival" in Germany.
I had the chance to get backstage to meet him after his concert. :)
Now i changed the pickguard to a new one, to save the signature.

Greetings

Welcome, Birk! Nice RM. :D

Your bad English is much better than my German, all I know are things like Michael Schumacher, Mercedes, etc.

Thats nice. I am certain that I heard that he doesn't sign pick guards anymore so all the more reason to treasure it. 8)

Thanks for your compliments. :)
I heard it too but i tried it and it was successful. But it was not allowed to take photos of him, while signing my Rick.

Welcome to the forum. Nice guitar. I'm certain your English is better than my German. Actually, I'd be rather embarrassed to speak German in the presence of a native speaker.

Joke's on you, Jeff, it's a standard 370/12 MG with toasters. I will give you that it is pretty convincing, but the one way I could tell was by the knob positions and how close together the pickups were.

Anyway, nice guitar, Birk, tell us how you got to meet Roger. I wasn't that clever when he came to Louisiana three years ago!

Yes, it's a standard 370/12 no RM, but somehow it is a RM now... :)

I wrote to the organizer of the "Burg Herzberg Festival" in 2009. And i was a freelancer for a magazine here in germany and I wrote some articles about concerts of german bands.
But then i had the chance to get a backstage pass for this festival and they let me in the photographer's pit. I took nearly 100 photos in 45 or 60 minutes, while he played.
I think the organizer asked him already, if its possible. So my parents brought the rick to the festival area and were waiting as long as i needed to ask Roger. :)
And after his gig I went to the entranceway of the stage. Some minutes later he came to me, while i was standing there with my rick.
He asked, if I want him to sign the guitar and if yes where i want to have the autograph, I answered yes at the pickguard and so he did it. :-)

He wanted no photos while he was signing my guitar, and i think this was a really fair condition.

Im very happy and proud of it. And I appreciate Roger at the signed my rick. I was 18 at this time and the rick "feels a whole lot" better since then. :D

Your Kaunsaslandic is a kind of lower german slang, Jim. I bet you'd come a long way with it in Germany!

Willkommen, Birk! Cool you got Roger to sign it!

Thats nice. I know Spanish. The only german I know is "Komm gib mer dina hand" and "Se leich dic" (the two german beatles songs , excuse my attrocious spelling)
