A big thank you to everyone who helps with my nut issue. In return here are some images of my baby. pretty much original apart from the nut ( yes, I do have a black switch cover somewhere). Someone stripped the finish off the front of headstock early on - I've had her for 36 years and I didn't do it! - the natural laminate actually suits her though.

Hope you enjoy them!

Stunning, David, and especially good looking from the neck down (like some ex-girlfriends of mine!).

Lovely fireglo on that one-

It's better than the tart's nail varnish or lipstick that's been suggested in the past!
Still, she was bought to be played and was gigged a lot until about 1980, when she was retired. The lack of colour has never bothered me - in fact, when I bought her back in '75, I thought they were all like it! Believe it or not, she's still fireglow under the truss rod cover!

I wouldn't change her for the world!

Beautiful guitar David. Also a very interesting shade of Fireglo....looks very similar to my early 1967 finish pictured....it's always difficult to assess in photographs, but I recall that other 1964 Rose Morris guitars I have seen pictured typically have a much darker Fireglo....

Yes, mine's not a really deep red - looks very similar to your picture.

The very early '64 RM's can have that lighter shade of FG which is a '63 shade. If this was a DA or DB serial then it wouldn't surprise me.

You're correct Andrew - it's a very early one.

I've been busy on ebay and won a case for my Ric. The original one having been stolen back in the late '70's. This is not an original 1960's one but close enough!

wise buy to protect your guitar David....the reissue cases give significantly more protection than the original '60's cases because of all the extra padding ....

I must say that the fit is absolutely spot-on - much better then the original. The Ric has had a case for the last 30yrs - just not a fitted one. It felt like it was constructed out of concrete!

Brian asked for some more images - so here's a couple more - one of the guts and one of the notation under the scratch plate - I'm sure this means more to others than it does to me!
