"The Guy with the Rick"

I used to gig around Cleveland in a classic rock band. One time I was loading in some equipment and overheard a couple people talking about the promotional poster. One of them said, "Oh yeah, that band has the guy with the Rick."
I thought it was funny that I was remembered...for my guitar.
Anybody else known specifically for their Rickenbacker?

(Raises hand...) Yup. That'd be me, I think.

I walked into a local music dealer and was specifically looking for a Vox amp. The next time I came in ready to buy, one of the sales clerks recognized me and said "Oh yeah, you're the guy with the Rickenbacker."

International Vintage knows I have Rics, but they just call me Jake, that being said, whenever customers come around, they call me "a loyal customer with Rickenbackers"

No, not in Cleveland anymore. Great town for blues though!
Is that where you are?

It happens to me occasionally. I usually get someone (Usually other musicians) come up to me and compliment the bass. Then they stare at it for a few minutes and then sometimes after the set they will come back and tell me how much they love the sound of them. Very satisfying for me.

They loved the sound then it is good and also it is a satisfying stage for you and you felt relaxed then and it is good to know that.
