I, IV, (never heard of C. Mark Tremonti), and X. But....but.....but.....there really aren't very many sound techs in this town who know how to set up for an acoustic band....which is all I played for thirty years or more.

The fact that they've been inundated with the rather bland Eric of the 70's, 80's, 90's and on, without gaining an appreciation for the Yardbirds, Bluesbreakers, Cream, or Blind Faith. When you listen to him past those groups, he really does seem to be very overrated with the same songs being trotted out for every bad classic rock station or wedding reception or school dance.

For me, X and with justification.I've been to too many shows and played with sound men who ruin the whole bottom end by making it to loud, or muddy, or otherwise ruin the tones.

Still disagree. That's the shortsightedness of it. Seeing him play in live and listening to many of his blues CDs of the past clearly put him at the top. How many guys from the last 35 years, other than SRV, can even touch his playing finesse?

Who can touch Clapton? Someone from his own generation passed him, the greatness of Johnny Winter! As far as the 10 Commandments, I bet players here could think of 10 more apropos rules that would best fit the past 20 years. I'm guilty of not caring for Clapton's work, but not thinking he's overrated. Then again, the blues isn't my favorite kind of music and playing anyway! Good stuff, opining with the best of'em!
