Anyone buy any Warmoth necks or bodies? I had to replace my 95 Fender Jazz neck when it got warped and the truss rod hole for the hex wrench stripped and cracked. The person who does my set ups recommended Warmoth. The neck is birdseye maple with a birdseye maple fretboard with black binding and block inlays and a black tusq nut. It is the bomb. It blew my old neck away. Nothing against Fender necks, but this is ten fold better hands down. I am thinking of building a bass and a guitar from scratch with their bodies and necks. I want to do a Jaguar or Jazzmaster and a Precision.

I put a Warmoth neck on a Schecter Tele-style guitar I owned about twenty years ago. Besides being a great neck, a big plus is the fact that Warmoth has a licensing agreement that allows them to copy Fender headstock and body shapes. An agreement I'm sure Fender has rued for years.

I'm working on a number of Fender offset clones, using Warmoth, Mighty Mite, and Musikraft necks. I have a Duo-Sonic with an Allparts neck, which is OK. My faves are the Warmoths.

There are some issues with the routing on Allparts and Warmoth bodies. Best check on some Fender sites for recommendations.

I agree that the birdseye maple one piece necks from Warmoth are terrific. At over $350.00 they should be! I picked up one for a Strat build for $225 on Ebay, though.

Yep the birds eye was pretty pricey, and I know many people slam Fender for having bolt on necks. But when someting happens to your neck that your truss rod can not compensate for it, you will be gald you only had to spend a few hundred dollars to repair your axe instead of over a grand to replace it. Don't get me wrong I love my Ric, but dread the day the neck ever becomes unrepairable.

Sure but it does happen. A freind of mine wanted a Ric 6 six string and took it to her guitar tech before she laid the money down. It didn't look too bad but the fingerboard looked like a rollercoaster and was beyond help.

That's not "unrepairable". It's "new fretboard time". Sounds like he should have defretted it and didn't before refinishing the fretboard. I've redone a few of these...

Right I am sure that almost nothing is beyond repair, but when you are ready to lay dowm money for a used axe with no warrenty I certainly would not want to pay for the guitar plus a refret job.
