Scarce as hell. Ask Ted. A GREAT playing bass. Sounds incredible! This one is coming up in July at the Valley Forge Guitar Show:

My vote is that it could have come from the factory that way. The pick guard would have to be removed for a definitive answer.

No. It is the only other '63 I know of though.

What a beautiful bass, I don't want to hijack this thread but......now that the C series are discontinued, think how easy it'd be for RIC to put out a bass (very much) like that by using the current 4003. It'd have all the coolness of the early basses and would hardly disrupt current production. Maybe if we ask nicely?
