Midnight Blue?

I'm in the market for a 360/12, and can't decide on the color. I've never seen the midnight blue color in person, and every picture I've seen of the color is different. The variety of lighting that people shoot pics for the internet doesn't give me an accurate representation of the color. Can someone describe it? Is it dark? Light? And more importantly... will I like it

Assuming you mean a new one, i've Just bought a Midnight Blue 4003 Bass. The reason it looks different in so many internet pictures is because it has what i would call a "Metallic" quality to the paint. Looking closely, it's almost as though there are many little pieces of metal in the paint. In reflected light it takes on a different colour and looks much lighter and Brighter. In the shade, and if you look straight on i would call it a dark to very dark royal Blue.
I'd say this best represents what i see. (btw it's not mine

But in an area where there is little reflective lighting, you can see it like this. Much darker.

There have been at least 5 shades of MID Blue over the years, beginning with a basecoat/candy color back in the '80s. That's one reason a lot of different shades exist. The other reasons for variations are lighting, camera, color balance, monitor calibration.
To my eye, the current shade is the best by far!

If You'll like it - well, the answer is only by You.
I have got a midnightblue Rickenbacker. Before buying I had the same question. I did not want a "light" dark blue. All pictures I have ever seen are different. That is no big surprise because it is a metallic blue. Very hard to photograph. At the latest You use Your computer for comparing it does not make sense. Every screen shows it different.
An Idea: Maybe You have got a dealer of german cars in the near of Your home. If yes, please tell me the brand. Then I can tell You the blue that is the closest to the one of Rickenbacker. Following You can visit that dealer and compare.
