Its in Anaheim, CA, Jan. 15th -18th. NAMM is an association for COMPANIES in the music products industry, not individuals.

Maybe your favorite music store is a member of NAMM and might get you a badge to get in.

I talked to a guy from a prominent New York State bass manufacturer last Friday, and they will make a heavy showing at NAMM '04. They are introducing exotic woods into their midline eastern European built line to bring it more up to par with their USA basses in appearance, and to give Warwick stiffer competition, I suppose. I would say Warwick is their stiffest competitor, especially since one of Warwick's main models is an outright blatant ripoff of their basic design. (Warwick DID put a dimple in the end of the headstock and tilt the tuners back for midgets. Big deal.) This should allow them to thrash Warwick in the marketplace as far as pricing goes on similarly constructed models, I would assume. It was already a value and performance leader series; now it will be a flashy style leader as well. I hope. This is besides the recent technical upgrades. I'm saving my mad money.

The bass player in one of the groups I jam with works for a boutique amp manufacturer who is a member; he told me that he would try to get me a ticket, so I'll ask him tomorrow (Thursday) at the next practice.

That's the ticket Gary.

Please, let's hear from the NAMM 2004 vistors with regard to their review of the Rickenbacker booth. Photos would also be appreciated.

I'll be sure and take plenty of shots. Maybe we should have a registry at the RIC "booth" for Rickenbacker Forum, VoxTalks and the AGR.

I just got back from having dinner with JWilli... nothing "new" from RIC to report, though.

It looks like I'll be there Saturday morning. I, too, will be taking pictures (oh, how I love digital photography!). I may decide to wear my green Vox Amplification jacket just to be different.

If anyone wants to try to meet there some time on Saturday, let me know, maybe we can arrange something - it's always nice to meet fellow Forumers and swap Rickenbacker tales (or would that be "tails", as in tailpieces...).
