Hi all -

I've been an off and on lurker for years it seems, finally decided to get in on the fun! I am an avowed Rickenbacker enthusiast/addict in Massachusetts ... and proud owner of three (so far) ...

1998 fireglo Model 1997, purchased new
1999 fireglo Model 360-12V64, purchased new
1967 fireglo Model 450, purchased on ebay a few weeks ago

Both the 1997 and 360-12V64 have the pre-scatterwound "hot" toasters ... which I do like a lot and don't plan on changing. But when I got the 450 and plugged it in, I was floored - those old 60's pickups have a certain mojo, I can't put the guitar down! A little TLC is in order, however - a new pickguard is a must ....

Regards,
Steve

Yes, I've been in contact with Tony at Pickguardian and it's in the works, provided I can put the guitar down long enough to get the pickguard off lol!

Peter, Brian, and CJ - thanks for the welcome and kind comments ... it is a great feeling to fraternize with people that have a likeminded appreciation for these fine instruments!

I have a funny feeling that my Rickenbacker GAS is not complete yet!

Regards,
Steve

Welcome, Steve! :D

There is certainly something special about '60s (and early '70s) toaster pickups! 8) I have five of them, three of them on basses. :D

Thanks!

Make that a quartet! Just won a 1966 450-12 on ebay :D

And yes, I am fortunate enough to have a very understanding wife!

LOL yes, I believe it's an incurable disease!

In my wildest dreams I could have never imagined getting two 60's Rickys but I love the feel of the 450 so much, I figured getting a matching 12 string would be the proper thing to do ... :D
