I want to thank all the formites for all your input on helping me determining which strings would suit my 1971 4001.As many of you know , my original '71 was stolen back in the '80s and that I have recently reaquired another one. My memory of which strings I used was quite foggy, they were either LaBellas or the ones in the red box (Rickenbackers)but they had to be flat wound.I was quite concern to learn about neck tension so I tried RS88s nylons,they didn't provide me with any satifaction so I tried TI - JF344s(based on alot of formites opinions) and I absolutely love them ,the feel and sound are what I missed with my Rick.So thank you to all who have responded to my posts.
