I have to say, that is an ingenious use of the iPad platform. Not a big fan of digital multi-effects boards, but thats very cool.

While that doesn't quite get my interest, I will say that there are a variety of good tools that are available for iPads. I have the iRig system that connects my guitars to the iPad and then I can either run it through Garage Band or one of the other amp and effects programs. It's really effective for travel and practicing some more difficult passages since you can import songs and slow them down, etc. It's really a versatile tool and makes the tablet platform useful for more than just games.
