Have you done that sort of finish, Paul? What would it entail?

Dang, almost got the white one right before he died for about 1400 bucks. I didn't know they did a blue sparkle, or did they?

Yes, the blue sparkle was the last version of the signature guitar he designed with Fillmore. The blue sparkle and gold hardware was his idea. This was a limited edition of 30 guitars with number #1 going to Johnny. My guitar is #15.

Here is the white one in the 2005 Fillmore catalog. The color of my guitar is actually a deeper blue than the way it appears in my photos. It is a shade of blue like the guitar in the catalog(but with sparkles)

Here is Johnny's original blue Mosrite Ventures II(stolen in 1977)

I'm doing a Fender in a lighter blue flake right now.

It's a lot of work.

All the grime, all the thundering speed, all the CBGB'iness and all the NY punkness of it all! I can only imagine what it must have been like to be a twentysomething in '76 or so...Hey Ho, let's go-greatness!

Addendum: How Johnny R. was not attached to his guitars is something many probably can't relate to now...

...wisdom

I'm reading the Ramones bio (called, of course, "Hey, Ho, Let's Go!".

These guys are timeless. Period. I didn't appreciate them when they were at their height in the late '70s-early '80s, but I sure do enjoy them now!
