As many of you are aware, Juliana (now 14! for one year only!) has been a member of SFGC since 2006, when she started on Level 1, singing simple primary stuff. She's progressed each year, moving up one level each time, to more challenging material. Last year, she auditioned for their professional, 40-member recording and touring group, Chorissima, and was accepted.
On Saturday evening, she leaves for Cuba for 4 Chorissima concerts there as part of a cultural exchange program. Yes, it's all legal. I can hardly wait to see the photos when she gets back on the 10th.
Last weekend she and 4 of her Chorissima friends had a sleep-over at our house, and of course they sang a lot between the shouting, giggling, girl talk and snacking. Here's a song they sing to our fair city:
Juliana's first soprano, far left. Left to right, Juliana, Sofia, Emma, Arlyss, and Emily.
They sung this on the ferry back from the city to Marin, on Friday evening, and made a lot of commuters happy. Then they re-performed it on a Hyde Street cable car on their way to Pier 39 on Saturday afternoon. I think a lot of tourists are going home with fond memories...

That's great news ! Congratulations to Juliana !
Will she sing a few tunes at SCARF, since we're always in need of vocalists at our jams ?

+1 Nicely done!

I think our jams would take away from a nice acapella like that! It sounds great (even sans-Rickenbackers!)

Good job! Right on!
I enjoy singing, but I need guitars in the background.
Good for her, she goes to cuba, and her dad works at Rickenbacker!

Wow! Very nice. Juliana seems to have a real passion for it. Great tone, phrasing and expression.
I HOPE my daughter has a passion for music when she gets older. I do have a lot of time to indoctrinate her, though, since she's only 7 weeks old.

Well, you've got it half right, anyway, Ivan!
I don't work "at" Rickenbacker, although I do work "on" Rickenbackers. My day job is teaching.

Believe me, Jay, the time's going to fly. It seems like last year when we brought her back from the cabbage patch...

Congrats, very cool. As a proud papa of an 8 year old daughter, I am becoming very aware of how time really does fly, and every step, milestone, and accomplishment must be savored.
