Let me get out my belt sander and I'll get back to you in a few minutes. I'm sure there is some amazing flame, or better yet, quilt, under this old finish.

But those just have rather thin flamed maple on 'em. Now, this one is flamed all the way through:

Sitting here admiring the flip=flop on my CW as I read this. But you asked for common Ricks ... my others are all painted opaquely. It's not usual but it happens for a few lucky owners.

Think of it like a lottery.

I am surprised you don't have the State Fire Marshall issuing you citations.
And I like the flame in the neck on Tim's FG 360. Very nice !

I've gotten lucky on a few
Here's my 1966 375 and 2008 660 in Amber Fireglo.
Many of the 660's (and 381's) are nicely flamed, I think it's part of the spec, but it's cool when you find one that just "happened"
