How different would the music world be without Michael Jacks

Since Michael Jackson is a huge influence on today's music, I was just wondering how different music, especially pop music, would be if Michael Jackson had never entered the music scene. What do you think? Would pop music be very different from what it is today?

Among a long list of contributions I think that Michael Jackson took the live performance to the next level expecially with his combination of vocal talent and dance. He was a tough act to keep up with and he certainly pushed performers to a higher standard. One has to imagine that his rehearsals were like no other.
