haha nevermind, found them.

I was going to suggest plan B.

Time for a thirty + year confessional: as a teenager, with guitars, horns in school band, suitcases, folk's office with locking desk drawers, etc., I amassed quite a collection of these little keys of various types. Then it came time to graduate from high school - a semester early, going to college on scholarship, one component of which was a partial music scholarship. BUT -- because I wasn't going to be around spring semester for contest (even though I got a scholarship -- think about it -- what's a superior rating at high school level compared to getting paid to play in college....) my band director advised me I wouldn't be earning a senior letter in band, although I had made all district band, all state choir, was graduating salutatorian (#2 in the student body), and had every other honor except for sports that my high school gave out. So I got even: the last week of class, I happened to be in the building for something unrelated. On a whim I checked: the band room doors were unlocked. I went in, and without touching any case so they could not trace it to me, I took my selection of keys and LOCKED every horn case in the band room, as nobody took their horns home to practice that week out of laziness. Of course, to cover, I locked my own as well and left it there instead of bringing mine home.

The next day: unmitigated pandimonium. Just as planned. Everyone freaked. The director was as red as a boiled lobster at losing rehearsal time. I calmly went about unlocking my case and getting on with it. As one by one my friends saw me, they each asked to borrow my keys. Of course, I obliged. One questioned me: I dismissed him with, "Mine was locked also. You know I have several instruments. Just because I actually keep my keys, instead of losing them, what are you accusing me of?" He backed down. I was never found out.

Now remember: not one horn was touched. Not one case was moved. But oh, did I get completely even!

This may be my favorite post ever on this or any other forum.

I kept them with me daily. Anyone who saw me unlock something knew I always had them with me. Quite a key ring. Dad had died when young, so I had to help Mom at home, at the office, etc., so I had a complete set of keys to the house, the various locks at her office, both vehicles, church, (including the pipe organ) all the desks, cases, etc., on me at all times.
