I can't help but hang my head in sorrow to see the atrocities committed here...

This seller also seems to have quite a number of vintage Rics (several modified, though this one's probably the most modified) listed on eBay. Anyone know anything about this guy?

Nice condition, must of been a Roger Glover fan. Could be fixed, asking too much money.

I just died a little bit inside.
And yes, overpriced for sure. If i was looking to buy a 4001, I'd think about it for $1000, knowing that I'd have to put a lot of time and money into bringing it back to being a real 4001.

That one was up not too long ago, but I think it was a private seller rather than these guys. That's some nasty butchery...

I agree. I the price was reasonable enough and I had the spare cash, I'd buy it to restore it.

Sacrilegious? No.
Ugly? Yes.
If it were reasonably priced for its condition, it'd make a good project.

Agreed. That's not too far gone to bring back. Tho the price is high.

That seems a fair asking price, given that, cosmetically at least, it's still in great shape. Then you're left with a restoration budget since you would have paid so little for the bass itself.
