Hi Everyone,

I read that the 370/12RM has the 12K toasters, but does it also have the 0.0047uF capacitor in the treble pickup circuit? Does anyone know? Roger McGuinn's Ric sounds amazing on his instructional DVD and his Back From Rio and Limited Edition CDs. I was wondering if the capacitor contributed to that tone or if it was mostly his use of onboard or outboard compression.

That was a thread I posted in 2008. As Kevin Kuney explains, he had his 370/12WB set up like a McGuinn. But if it doesn't answer your question, the 0.0047uF treble capacitor is not on it. Giant orange Sprague capacitors are present, which were used on all Rics in the late 80s...that's about all I know. My two Rics feature these capacitors and I enjoy this style of wiring.

Thanks for the pointer to that prior thread. I had read it but I found it was focused on the onboard compressor and didn't talk about the other circuitry. However, your response answers my question. Thanks, again!
