Rickenbacker Neck

Hi,
I'm new to the forum and saving up for a Ric 330 or 360.....( did own both before and sold em
)..Anyway,I know that this is probably gonna sound really silly but I got a question concerning the necks...( I live a couple of hundred miles from the nearest store so I have to rely on others opinions...also it was a long time ago when I sold my Rics so I can't really remember much about them 
)......About two years ago I had a really nice acoustic guitar (not rickenbacker) and my friend also bought the same model. There was one major problem though, that we both experienced with our guitars...It was a thin neck, which in itself is fine, but the high E string was so close to the end of the fret that it actually kept slipping off the fretboard. Having to hold the string with the little finger, as on a G chord for example, was incredibly frustrating. I couldn't remember, in 20 years of playing, of ever having had this problem before...( couldn't recall it when I had the rickies but as I said, that was a long time ago, when I couldn't really play the guitar anyway 
).....Anyways, this experience has made me wary when it comes to getting any new guitar so I'm basically looking for reassurance that this doesn't happen with the Rickies......I know it sounds a bit daft but until I can try one out for myself, would appreciate your views on this.............Thanks
