If I flog this dead horse enough I think eventually it might just move.
How much would you be willing to pay for a limited run of say for example:
- a 4002?
- a 4005?
- a 3001?

. . . . which is exactly why there likely will never been one.

OK, I'll play.
A brand new 4002?
Around $4400.

for a permanent reissue.
4005 - $4100
4002 - I wouldn't personally.
3001 - $2300
for a limited run more (but not much more).

Well I can imagine the production costs would be a
lot higher for a 4005 than lets say, a 4004.

I don't have need for a 4002. I'd buy one if it was like $1500, just to have it, that's all.
A 4005 looks okay, so for the looks maybe $2500, like Anoukane.
The 3001 looks a bit like the child of a Fender and a Musicman; I'd buy the parents instead.
Probably the same sort of thinking happened when these were still in production.

Supposing the numbers made were seriously limited,I think you would have to look at a figure of up to £4000.
Thats what you would pay for some other bespoke Custom Shop basses.
Talking of dead horses,
I would pay good money for a reissue of a non tail-lifting aluminium tail/bridge that would fit current 4001 CS,V63 and C64 reissue basses.
Please!

I'd like to see a re-reissue of the V63 but, can't see how they would be less than the current used prices.
Other than that, maybe just options like checkerboard binding and horseshoe/toasters for the currently made better than ever 4003

Yes, much as I would
LOVE to have a 4002, I'm guessing the market for such a thing just wouldn't justify going into production.
Now, having the option to change the binding on a special order, adding checkerboard, changing white to black, now that would be wonderful. Yes, these would get in the way of normal production, but it would seem that RIC could charge accordingly. But then again, with the economics of production, interrupting the flow to make a few special orders, even with just binding changes, might just price them out of the realm of what most people would be willing to pay...

You guys need to think strategically and competitively. Example:
I'd pass on everything but the 4002, and be willing to pay whatever price retailers Shinsedo distributes to would sell a RI 4002 for.
