Great little guitar - I like the brown colour better, though, but see it's not offered, even! TV yellow's just not my thing! Image

Cool guitar - very tempting. If I had to choose between that and the 60's Studio Goldtop, though...

BTW, that video is hilarious - notice that Kane is only miming and there's another dude in the back playing the bass parts on a Thunderbird!

Dang it; that's one of my two fave Gibson LP models, the other being a white Steve Jones style custom. . . er, Mike Snow style custom?
There is no reason to ever be bored.

...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

Kane had a broken hand I think, the T-Bird guy did their whole west coast stint with them for their last tour.

Would love a special in TV yellow, double cutaway, with a real finish, not that aged worn stuff. I had the one in the pic in the 90s, but have always wanted the double cut.

What's wrong with the "worn" lacquers? It's nothing like a relicked guitar, they're less shiny, as less lacquer, less buffing etc.

Aged is something different than worn, btw. On an aged the hardware gets treated to look old as well, plus the laquer doesn't have to be uniformly applied.

As for the basic worn colours, I like them, less to worry the nice shine wears off! For people who believe in the myths of guitars, the worn guitars must be great: less lacquer so the guitar breaths more, gives off more sound etc

I owned a Melody Maker in white that looked like it was finished in correction fluid. I thought those double cutaway specials in TV yellow were cool, but every one of them had "worn" places an them and looked horrible to me, like they were colored with a marker that ran out of ink. It would be one thing if the color was at least uniform, but to have patches where you can clearly see the color of the wood showing just looks ****** to me. Wood grain or a stained finish is one thing, these just looked like a dude with a can of spray paint gave it a quickie.

Uhm, yeah, the melody makers can be a bit, uhm, rough in its finish. I'm glad the US market gets most of those rough ones

Looking forward, Mike! What date is the Rotterdam gig again? Wasn't it on a Tuesday?
