The Signature bass (that never was)

I've been reading about the signature models (of Ric bass & guitar)... really interresting stuff, and I'm surprised that there aren't more, considering that a certain group of scousers were partly responsible for Ric's rise to fame.
It got me wondering who else would be worthy of a signature bass? It got me speculating what modifications their signature model might incorporate?
The two bass hero's I would choose (although talented), are not especially famous, and I guess this is probably a prerequisite if your going to encourage high volumes of sales, they both also play deleted Ric models, also probably not a great starting block.
I realise this is never going to happen. But feel free to post a reply stating so crushing my dreams into shiney shiney dream dust.
But anyway, as I am adept at writing and you are willing readers (close eyes now otherwise)...I would choose:
Mani - The Stone Roses / Primal Scream
Or
Nick O'Malley - Arctic Monkeys
Both play (on ocaission) Ric 3000 basses. I suppose Nick O'Malley is more 'of the moment' and therefore more marketable. However in my opinion, mani is very worthy, and underated.
The fact that the 3000 was a less expensive bass is a plus. A great quality instrument at an afordable price. and as for the modifications well what about:
- a toaster pickup? - growly, nice!
- a tear drop pickguard? - I just think it looks cool
- a bolt on hollow body (like a lakeland)? - Mani is often associated with the Ric 4005, also an epiphone jack cassidy.
Any way, I have 'vented' now and feel better for it...What would your choice be?
