Jdogric12 / beatbyrd collaboration - McGuinn cover

Hi, I just posted a cover song that is a combined effort between Jason M. (of MetroSongs fame) and me. It's a cover of Roger McGuinn's "You Bowed Down" (from his "Back From Rio" album). Jdog takes Elvis Costello's vocals and I do McGuinn's. We've gone back and forth, putting this together over the past couple of months, working the song between our other projects. Jason was great to work with and classes up my website with his playing and singing. His Rick 12 is the musical center of the song. The song can be found here: http://beatbyrd.com/team_projects

I like it too. And yes, Back From Rio is a great album. One suggestion.....the response line "...you bowed down...." needs to be brought up in the mix a little more. The last pass through was perfectly balanced in my opinion.

Posted just in time for Jdog's birthday. Very nice work, guys. Tom, you're an incredible vocalist. You can probably teach me a few things or two.

Thanks to all for the positive comments. Half of those vocals are Jason's. It was great to work with someone who actually knows how to play guitar. I'm still blown away by how great a job he did on his Steely Dan style original song. Talk about having an ear for the nuances. He nailed it. Tom

BTW, Jdog...... Happy Birthday!

We DO have an alternate 'take' that we did as William Shatner and Ross Perot, if you're interested.........

That version is good for another couple of dozen plays. Tom
