Subaru!

Post by octagon »

I bought a new Outback.

Since we mainly wanted a new car for winter driving the Outback looked like a good choice.

We looked at one a few years back. Seemed like a nice car, but I didn't fit...

Congrats! I hope it doesn't look like the last video around your place right now...

I know the feeling! I know a few people with Outbacks and they seem to like them. Of course, I don't know that I'd trust the video completely, probably depends on just how dense/wet/icy the snow is.

We ended up with an All Wheel Drive Volvo XC70. I have to say, the all wheel drive out does the 4WD pickups we have quite handily even though they've got more ground clearance. So, I'm guessing you're really going to like the Subaru. Especially if you haven't had AWD before...

Thanks! You know the best car I ever had for winter driving was my 1961 VW.

Congrats Mitch. I've plowed snow like the video with my old Lincoln Continental before, but the Subaru looks like more fun. My wife used to drive a Super Beetle and was concerned being pregnant and driving 35 miles to another town to work. There was 18" of snow along the side of our back street and I put two wheels in it and the Dub just kept rolling along. She didn't worry after that display. Enjoy your new wheels!

I have a 2010 with almost 40,000 miles on it, and I love it. I've had several cars go over 250,000 miles, and one with 300,000 (I still see it running around town 7 years later). The Subi is the best by far! Congratulations!

They are almost the unofficial car of Boulder, Colorado. When you are at a light, there will always be one nearby.

MY parents have had 5 Outbacks - bullet-proof reliability...

...I probably just jinxed it!

My company car is a 2010 Subary Legacy, I got it in feb of 2010 and it now has 66,000 miles on it. At 65K I'm required to order a new one so I'm sticking with Subaru. They really are great cars, fun, safe and will run like a top!

Thanks guys! Remember when Subaru's were "cheap and ugly"?

That was actually their ad campaign: Buy a Subaru it's Cheap and Ugly!

I wonder who came up with that idea? Don Draper after an afternoon matinee and a 3 martini lunch?

Congrats on the new ride Mitch!

I've always wondered about those...our new car is a BIT more UGLY. We recently bought a Nissan CUBE!

Hmmm, my BEST vehicle in snow, NOT that I have to worry about that much anymore, was my International Scout Traveler. Talk about SICK!
NOTHING stopped that monster.....except possibly RUST. I miss that beast.
