Not sure if this is the right place to post this but................... Why did Ricenbacker quit putting the model number on the TRC? My guess is for ease of reproduction to make them ummm generic at the factory. That being said I personally think having the model number placed under the made in USA looks AWESOME together.

Just curious,

I'm sure that streamlining production had something to do with it. Plus from the mid-1970s, the injection-molded plastic TRC with the raised letters (right-handed instruments only) was made to fit nearly every model. Some trimming along the nut edge was accommodated, as well as a bit of a shave on the top edge to clear strings on the 12-string. Early on, the model number was either engraved or hot stamped (I can't tell how) on some of the raised-letter TRCs, but eventually this custom was abandoned. The earlier clear acrylic TRCs often had the model number back-painted along with the Rickenbacker lettering.

Thanks Paul, Kinda seems like it was a streamlining process. Yet, don't ya think it looks cool to have the model number there????
