An old friend of mine just posted a pic on my FaceBook page of his new toy 4080 in BG as I get details I'll fill you in.

Only a couple of hundred miles away. I told of the forum I hope he joins, has a band Bad Dog Bad.

Oh yes, i want to see this.... My dream bass, in all reality. The best colour (IMO) and the coolest looking double neck ever.

Since the 4080 was introduced in 1975, it did not come with checker binding, unless specifically ordered that way. Checker binding was discontinued on the flagship 4001 in mid 1973. I've seen only one 4080/12 with checker binding, and it was added during a custom refinish outside the factory.

I had a chance to buy a Jetglo 4080 double neck years back in the mid 90's, but didn't have the cash ($1100)
If I had only sold my car.......
I remember it weight heavy like a tree trunk.

We've got three 4080 BG's on the Register, could this be another one to add.
Think I prefer the BG with a white scratch plate.
