This was sort of a unique collab with my guitar player friend Yogi.
The Diviner
Back in about 1995, we were jamming on some ideas and he came up with a cool sounding riff, so I started noodling around for notes on the bass to fit. I had my little hand-held cassette recorder rolling, so I caught the jam as we were still flushing it out. That riff and a few others I had conjured up at around the same time sat around dormant for all this time before I decided to try and piece it together. I thought about retracking the guitar part that Yogi created, but I liked the idea of putting the actual capture in the song, and that way Yogi would still be included, having played his part 15 years earlier! So what you hear in the intro is from the actual cassette of our jam, then I looped Yogi's single guitar line for the 1st verse.
I played the Frankenbass during our 1995 jam, and used the '68 4001 for the new tracks.
