I've been doing a fair amount of jamming lately so I've been putting all the basses thru the paces. I played the DCM out last nite, first time in a couple years at least. I forgot what great tone that cherry-smelling beast has. It may not be a case queen for much longer....

Those are soooo pretty. I know if I had one I'd be showing it off. As long as it's not a dodgy venue, if you know what I mean. Risk assessment would be wise but yes, all Ricks are made to be played and look great doing it.

Good for you, Scott, I need to get the DCM out of the case more often. Right now I'm enjoying being stuck in 4004Cii mode.

Bring it Rich! I'm going to bring the DCM to my next noise session.
...the five year old Ric strings don't sound half bad, either. I may no longer be a Hartke evangelist.

Also took the DCM out of the case recently as well. I will be honest with all of you guys. The finish on those rare beasts is simply out of this world ! I love red basses to start with and that one is so special with the gold pickguard !!! The tone was pure Ric pleasure too !

There seems to be some negativity toward these, but I love mine! It is a beautiful finish!

Give it a few years, when the new coming Rick enthusiasts won't know or even care if they do, about the reasons why there is some negativity towards them right now.

I remember some comments about the neck being too thick, the price too high, maybe some noise. The neck is pretty thick, but it never bothered me. But then again, I like the old 4004 neck too.

Well, they are simply 2006/2007 4003 models, which unfortunately means some of the great features to come are absent. Can you imagine these with full width inlays?

...or the old style crushed pearl inlays...
