Jetglo discontinued?

Post by TheWonders »

I was just pursuing the 'Bay and found an auction for a 330/12 JG. The listing stated that the color was discontinued!?

Is that true - JetGlo has been discontinued?

Nope. JetGlo is such an iconic color I can't imagine that ever happening. (Ditto for FireGlo and MapleGlo).

That's what I thought also... it seemed like an odd thing for Rickenbacker to do, discontinue such a popular color.

Here's the eBay listing makes the claim:

Well, they are talking about a 360/12C63, which, according to the RIC website is only available in Fireglo. So, perhaps Jetglo isn't a color you can order for this particular guitar at the present time...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Just a guess, but is JetGlo a discontinued finish on the 360-12 C63? Since this particular model is supposed to be a replica of George's guitar, is it only available in FireGlo?

Rumors and bogus claims disguised as sales tactics will always abound, so go to the source; the RIC company website. :D

The 360/12 C63 is available in JG; it's just not publicized. POTR usually has them on order, IIRC. There was a JG 360/12 C63 on display at NAMM this year.
There is no reason to ever be bored.

...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

JetGlo discontinued ?? That would be like discontinuing soap. When I first saw this post, I had to check if it was April 1st.

Bar soap is being phased out by liquid soap

Still, when they say Jetglo is discontinued, it's assumptions. They see a jetglo on a 360/12C63 and think that it was once a standard finish, but discontinued for that model. AFAIK, it's not typically available for the C63 or 381, but it's not like you can't get one. Just like a fireglo 325C64, they don't make 'em, but not like one will never turn up.

Don't all real men these days shower with liquid soap and one of those cute little poof-ball scrubbie things?

Tony would be in heaven if JG was discontinued (no more paw prints)...........I suspect that CJ would also celebrate.

To me JG is iconic. 4 out my 6 Ricks are JG.

I need another JG bass, probably a 4004L. With toasters, of course. 8)

Never mind the soap, I hear they're discontinuing water.
