Fitting a 4003 with a 4004 bridge

Has anyone done this? If so, can you list the pros and cons? Please post any pics, if available. Thanks!

Pretty sure the 4003's have a big piece of body wood drilled out to accomodate the mute assembly,which means you would have to fill that in...too bad....

If you aren't happy with the stock Rick bridge/tailpiece have you thought about the Hipshot drop in replacement?

Neither 4004 bridge will fit properly or adjust for low enough action. String spacing is also too wide on these bridges.

Yeah, I second that. If I just could nto live with the stock 4003 tailpiece, I'd do a Hipshot. Mind you, I contemplated that but I'm a purist, in that aspect.
