Very interesting, but, one factor that maybe overlooked, depending on the type of music you play, a loud rock style at higher volume benefits from more signal, be it hiss or hum and all adds to your grinding sound and its flavour. Take live Cream or Free, to get those Superleads and Superbass Marshalls to sing you need a lot of signal, the more junk you have in the line the sooner you get the grind and the less you have to wind up the volume. If on the other hand you need a clean sound then this is a good mod.
