Thanks guys, I must have posted this in error though, I forgot that you can't play lead on a Rick.

Very nice. That sounded similar to George Harrison's Chet Atkins/Carl Perkins style of playing. I take it "Everybody's Trying to Be My Baby" was an inspiration?

I don't believe JB's lead work sounds anything like anyone else in particular Jake. It just sound like John's unique mastery of his own riffs and patterns to me. Maybe I have just got used to listening to his well honed guitar work though.

I commented on the similarities to George's rockabilly type playing. Everyone has his own unique style, and JB is no exception.

Thank you for the kind words everybody! Jake, I was never a fan of George's rockabilly playing, I always found it to be a bit half-baked and sloppy. If I'm gonna listen to that kinda stuff I prefer to go straight to the source, Chet or Cliff Gallup or even Setzer. I can't recall anything influencing this solo (which I came up with 6 years ago) but I believe I had learned "Sultans Of Swing" around that time so perhaps there is a bit of Knopfler in there.

'Course, I'm sure it would sound better with some other brand of guitar...

Thanks fellas, here is a direct link: http://johnbiscuti.net/music/annie.mp3

This recording (done early 2008) has prominent 5002v58 in the intro and bridge; my v68 with mutes engaged and lots of slapback echo doubling the upright bass after the 2nd verse; a 660/12 playing the solo (which I have come to regret; why I decided to use a 12-string is beyond me. :? ).

I liked the 12 string guitar sound John. I thought you did a great job with it. :D
