Burning Question About Chris Squire........

Does ANYONE here have hard, credible info. on what basses(if any) Chris picked up at the Sotheby's John Entwistle auction????

I have been wondering about this for YEARS!!!!!!
Given that A. Chris was a big fan, and was friends with John B. John had so MANY awesome basses in his collection

I would think Chris would have gone after a few of them...........like the 4008 Prototype

I'm pretty sure he didn't pick up anything at Sotheby's. I can't remember where the Entwistle 4008 went, but thought it was overseas, possibly Japan. Chris's 4008, and sister to the Entwistle bass, now resides with a collector friend who has just had the bass serviced.

may 13, 2003, entwistle's 4008 went for 4560.00 GBP with an estimate of 1500-1800 GBP. in may,2003 that was about $7500.00 usd.

it had a gibson flight case and spare strings missing one vol. control disc insert and treble pickup cover and had the reverse string paring of squire's(root first then octave). i copied the sale to paper may 22nd. if i had known about this sale, the bass would have been mine ! seriously ! i was quite bummed. i could have had a sword fight with mr. gallo with matching 4008's.

i have a foto of him playing it in a studio setting with a pic !!!

toal sale of his schtuff came to $1,093,372 GBP.
