Well, I think you can draw a picture of just about anything, legally. And you can even put measurements on it. Or what ever. Now what one does with that picture as far as making a physical device represented, well, that's a whole 'nother question...

I love guitar blueprints.

Seems above board to me, but maybe we will see if the auction lasts or not...

Well, not really "above board" in the sense of intent...the seller must know what blueprints are used for (to make copies).

To me, there's no intent implied in a guitar blueprint. It's more like functional art. I would agree with you if it was a fully 3d CAD plan and tooling path, etc... that's just used to make a copy.
I mean, I have a whole set of blueprints of the Harper Goff Nautilus. I won't be building a Nautilus, they are just fun to look at!

There's a music store in Portland, ME that has some original Frying Pan blueprints hanging up. They are super cool and BIG. Not for sale. I tried.

IIRC, some time back there were a lot of 'blueprints' on eBay for building a non-working replica of the TARDIS ... I just checked and there aren't any such building plans listed now. Maybe it is not as legal as it might first seem.

Nowhere in the description does the seller mention the word "art". It also says nothing about being suitable for framing. I think the fact that the seller is a luthier supply shop gives us a pretty big clue as to the plans intended use.

That's because they were for a
non working version.

No, they would be infringing only if they were working models ... wait, then someone else would have gone farther back and patented it earlier ... then someone else, even earlier ... then someone else wold have created the patent office earlier and patented it even earlier, then ...

I would jump on that...David Tennant was the best, hands down BTW!

There's similar plans for 350 and 360/12 on eBay now as well, same seller.
