Onboard Tuners??

Can anyone recommend a good clip-on tuner? I have seen the Korg Pitchclip and a couple of others. Anything special about these I should look for when getting one?

Tim,
I chose this one because it was the smallest and simplest. It works as well as any of the clip-ons. Very good with acoustic instruments, sometimes less so with electric and bass, requiring re-positioning to get good response. This has been the case with many of the clip-ons I've tried. I wouldn't want it to be my only tuner at a gig, but it's convenient at home.

The Snark tuner has become quite popular here in the hinterlands. I have three of them. And they're very reasonably priced.

That Snark is sure compact and reasonable.

Tune Tech Tuner TT-1000. It's a little bigger than a bic lighter.

I've been using a Snark for all my bass gigs over the past year. It's accurate, fast, and durable. Would absolutely recommend.

The thing that finally sold me on the Snark is that the face is bright, multicolored, and very easy to read.

LOVE the Snark! ... it's the only one I've used that
instantly captures the low E string on bass....open
or fretted!

How fast does it capture a low B string tuned down to, say, A or G?

You can just hit the 12th fret harmonic and it works okay.

I have a couple of blue Snarks, which I'm very happy with. I thought I'd lost one of them recently, so I bought one of these to try:
It's the Planet Waves NS Mini. It really is about as tiny as a clip-on tuner could be and still be usable - it's very unobtrusive (particularly on a 6-in-line headstock), and seems to be as responsive and precise as the Snark. Because it only rotates in one plane, it's not as versatile as the Snark (and others like it) for positioning the display, but so far that's only been an issue on my lap steels.
Of course I found the 'lost' Snark as soon as the PW arrived...
