Glad to hear that. I've never heard the "replacement" version and don't want to; I thought that was an appalling thing to do. FWIW I met the entire original band prior to them releasing the first album; they did a warm up gig at a local venue and I went down in the afternoon, caught the soundcheck and hung out until the gig, got autographs, etc etc. Ironically the only one I didn't get, although I did shake hands and talk with him briefly, was Randy Rhoads. He was tiny (I'm 6ft and he came up to about my chest)! The guys were all very pleasant, including Ozzy, although he did give his roadies and soundcrew some stick. I was a big fan of Lee Kerslake from his Uriah Heep days. I vividly remember Bob Daisley being absolutely deafening and the room just shaking with every note he played (it's a very small venue, just a local club) and Randy asking if he didn't think he was a bit loud.gearhed289 wrote:Saw that clip a couple of days ago. Yeah, that was creepy replacing those guys. NOT cool! They've just re-issued the first two again, with the original rhythm tracks back in place. Killer work by Kerslake and Daisley!
He replied in the negative and it was a while before they could get him to turn down. 
Very cool story! Incidentally, I haven't heard the remastered versions either and hope I never do. When I was a kid I thought it was Rudy Sarzo & Tommy Aldridge on Diary of a Madman, since they were pictured and credited - it wasn't until later that I learned it was actually Bob Daisley & Lee Kerslake, and actually Bob Daisley did a lot of the lyric writing.henry5 wrote:Glad to hear that.
