Hi There I made a post about a month ago about looking for some 1950's knobs for my 4001 bass. I haven't had any joy in finding them and time is now of the essence as I'm gonna be needing them for a photo shoot very soon so if you do know anyone please could you put me in contact with them.

Or if anyone is selling a lap steel or something with the knobs let me know as I am considering buying one for the knobs.

It would be a great help and much appreciated.

Again thanks for all you help so far.

You can buy them from RIC, they are the same as the ones on a '50s 4000.

Those are close, but I don't think those are quite the same. I think they should look like the ones on my 768:

Ok, I see the difference. So sell your knobs to him, you'll still have a couple left over.

If you're still looking for a set, a pair is on ebay right now:

The new metal knobs are shorter and have a sharp edge around the top. The 50's knobs are taller and are rounded.
They work in a pinch if you can't find original ones.

The ones on the bay look nice...
