I Like Trains
I've liked this band for quite a while now. They're from Leeds, and really good, if you like this kind of melodramatic thing. The bassist always uses a Rickenbacker, so that's cool too.

I like trains, too! Err......uhh.....nevermind.
Interesting music. Awfully dark though. Do they do anything that's a bit more up-tempo?

The singer looks like a client of mine at the lab.
Re: I Like Trains
I guess you could say I like trains too...
Never heard of the band before, but I like 'em!I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Re: I Like Trains
No, it's pretty much all that dark! That's probably the appeal for me, to be honest.
Their first two records were written solely about events in (primarily) English history. From the Plague to Spencer Perceval's assassination. Their most recent album is maybe a bit less dark (not saying much), and written from a more personal perspective.
Anyways, I'm glad you guys liked it. The Rickenbacker content is worth it, too!

Sounds like music to listen to at 3 am when you are deep into a bottle of booze after your woman just left you.
Re: I Like Trains
Very dark. I Like Trains...but I don't want to end up jumping under one.
Re: I Like Trains
Reminds me of Radiohead and other similar bands....Rick is cool though.
Rickenbacker 4003JG, Aria 1540, Epiphone Jack Casady, DIY P-bass

Re: I Like Trains
I work for the Railroad and see trains almost every day.
Re: I Like Trains
I see them every time I sit down at my desk. As long as you don't keep particularly accurate track of your labor time, you can make reasonably good money doing custom work on model trains and auctioning them off on eBay. I usually do two or three custom re-paint or weathering jobs on N-scale locomotives every winter when it gets too cold to want to go outside (it's the train guy's version of relic-ing). I have a handful of eBay customers who buy most of them. Considering that they're often only two or three inches long and about an inch tall, it's a great way to give your hand/eye coordination a good workout, as they have to be disassembled, painted and then re-assembled.

Wow, more people are alike than I thought...
Re: I Like Trains
This is my only aircraft model - but it's not terribly practical for display purposes (needs to be ironed too). One thing's for sure....with all the crazy stuff I build, I never get bored. Until the bottom dropped out of the thermometer last week I was working on a serious little 22' job out in the garage. There are your everyday relic paint jobs, and then there are true relic paint jobs.
