For those of you who Bi-amp, what did you come up with for crossover settings on what kind of gear? What kind of results did you get? Mark

What kind of cabs? Drivers? I've plans to build a pair of fEarful 15/6 cabs, the cab designer recommends around 800~850hz, which is also the approximate x-over point on the 15/6 crossover board. It will have a switch to take the x-over in and out of the signal, so will be able to use them in bi-amp or normal mode. I've two power amps, a Crest CA9 that will feed the low frequency drivers, and a tube Mesa Boogie to feed the midrange drivers.

I'll have to check when I get home. I do know off hand that i had lows going to a 15 and mids and HIs going to 2x10 or Mids to the 2x10s and HIs (bridge PU in ric-o-sound) going to a keyboard amp.
I'll check the crossover frequency when I get home.

Thanks guys. I've got an SVT4 and BXT410 and BXT115 cabs. Both 4 ohm. I can run the 410 bottom "full range", and the 115 bottom off of the Bi-amp low section of the patch panel. I guess I could set the crossover by ear, but I would be a fool not to take advantage of all the collective knowledge here. Any and all help greatly appreciated. Mark

I'll be very interested in this because I recently got a SVT4 too. I'm just scratching the surface, but currently I'm running a 1X15 cab for lows and a 2X10 full range. EV speakers in all and both cabs are 8 ohms. I'm crossed over at 300hz. Sounds good so far.

Kevin, do you prefer the "full range" cab with a "low range" cab rather than the usual "high range/low range" configuration? Mark

I was messing with it set for a hi and low cab at my last practice, but I prefer the sound of the 1X15 for lows and the 2X10 at full range. It had more punch. At thursdays practice I'm going to change the crossover to 600hz simply because that's where I have the most cut on my eq and see how that sounds.

Sweet, I'll be at work over the 25th, but I'll be back before New Years and I'll check back with you to see how it's shaping up. Happy Holidays, Mark
