That was, indeed, a production model, the earliest ones did not have the Lemmy stuff on it.

The first fretless I ever played was a fretless version of that model that was hanging in a store. A couple days later I dragged my EB0 over to my luthier and told him to tear off the fingerboard and install a fretless one.

That is a later JS-II, with humbuckers. Some folks like those pickups, most of us Guilders prefer the earlier Bisonics or replacement Darkstars. Wonderful thin necks, great sound with flats. Hugely "articulate" but unforgiving.
Currently: Tuxedo, 1972 4000

Past holdings: 1968 4005, Blackstar, 3000, CS, Alembric, Tuxedo, 360-12, Blackstar, 360-12, 1982 4003, Shadow, 4003 SnowGlow, CS in that order.

I had one back in the late 70's but because of the wood saddles on the tail pease, it was a lil too dul sounding for me. i replaced it w/a leo quan bad arss bridge and used it for a good while. wish i'ld left it original and kept it. very nice and well made bass.
