Hi to all

Post by Davegilmour »

Hi to all ! I'm new to the forum.

I have been reading through all the interesting posts..

I have been a rickenbacker fan for many years and love anything from the late 1950's

Thanks for the welcome,

I only have 1 Rickenbacker .. Which was an early Christmas present.

But it is one truly stunning and rare guitar.. And is in the register here.

A 1958 Combo 850 in natural .. My dream guitar which I now luckily own :D

I noticed that marked as Sold. Wow, you're one lucky fellow. I've love some description of what you think of it, what it sounds like etc. That's one of the most unique guitars ever built.

Hi Robbie,

Out of interest where did you see it listed as sold?

It's simply amazing sounding ..! So diverse in tone and pick up settings..

It plays great, really good action.. Now I see what all the fuss is about with the Combo 850

I love this guitar, to know it was made the same year as john lennons, I looked up how many Combo 850,s they made in 1958 compared to 325's.. they made 8 natural 325,s in 58 but only 3 natural 850,s were made.

Such a rare rickenbacker and truly a beautiful example, I'm very happy indeed :D

Love to speak to anyone else with one ..

Welcome! I really do like the combo 850 as well. Its like a 325 style body with a german carve, and an HS pickup. Its a breed all its own.
For your view pleasure:

P.S. You wouldn't happen to be a Pink Floyd fan would you? :D
