Newbie to RRF and soon to be Ric owner

Hi all-
Just joined as I await my first Ric in the (hopefully) next few days. It's a '99 370/12 VP. Although I have played guitar for a few decades (couch picker - not gigger) I hadn't played a Ric until this morning. I went over to a local Guitar center and played a 330/12 and a 360/12. Oh that sound! Loved it. I was concerned about the narrow neck. Though not the most comfortable feel, the sound makes up for it. These gits had hi gains and mine will have vintage toasters. I've spent the last day, listening/watching on youtube and viewing the posts here. Since I'm an old Beatles, Byrds, Petty fan, I'm thinking the VP's and I should get along well. It seems like hi gain, 7.4, 12, HB all have their fans, and it's about taste. Reminds me of the Dynasonic and Filtertron debate at the Gretsch forum. Thanks for all the help and guidance. Welcome, Corey! Yes, some players with larger hands have trouble with the narrow Ric necks, but the guitars just have that SOUND. You're gonna love that 370/12!

Welcome, Corey. We have ways to remedy the narrow neck, such as modify the nut so that the pairs are slightly spaced apart. That shouldn't stop you. Paul's right, we must see pics!

Of course the neck is narrower than on most other guitars but you WILL get used to it. I had to struggle for about a week to get my fingers in connection with my beloved 360 and now there is no difference in playing compared to my strat, tele, es-335.
And BTW, if you can play a RIC, you can play every other guitar easily.

Wow - what an absolute beauty! Thanks everyone for the welcome. I don't anticipate the neck to be that much of an issue, but will modify the nut if it is. Will post some pix after her arrival. I guess it's appropriate to quote our dear RIC buddy - "waiting is the hardest part."
