Peter Frampton has recovered his 1954 LP Custom after 30 years. Kinda brings a tear to my eye ... this from Vintage Guitar:

That pretty awesome that he got his old friend back. There is always that one Guitar (Or bass) that has special meaning. To him it was this one.

Peter is one facebook celebrity that does his own posting, and because of that I'm pleased to think of him as a friend. So I can whole-heartedly say that it couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Truly.

Wow, that's quite a story... surviving 32 years after a plane crash !
And somebody cared enough to track down its rightful owner.

Julian also posts his own material and thoughts on facebook as do Tal Bachman and Slash. There are a few other rock stars of course who also maintain their own facebook pages and they are all down to earth. Peter is a gentle, unassuming man. A great human being. I could not be happier for him.

The article is still pretty light on the detail. Exactly where has the guitar been these past 30 years and how did it survive the crash?

Great story! When you consider the odds it is nothing short of amazing, especially as it was #1 guitar.
