When Did Rick Switch To Plastic Hard Cases?

When did Rickenbacker switch to using the plastic hard cases instead of the black wooden/Tolex cases?

I believe it was around mid-1995.

Might've been just a bit earlier than mid 1995 - my 370/12JG came with the then-new style plastic case and I received it (shipped form a dealer to me right after the dealer had received it from Rickenbacker) in early (not mid) 1995.
